Fake Book

Glad you all like the book title. I don't mind creating the rest title page & verso. It should be fairly easy since it's all made up anyway. If I get stuck I'll ask for help!

As far as the other future assignments I haven't gotten into thinking about them or really looking over the requirements yet either. Maybe I need to do that this weekend. Natalie had asked a few days back about reading the Sanchez report - oh no, not yet. I've downloaded it though! Now I'm feeling behind and didn't we just start the semester?

I missed the Elluminate meeting this Wed but I will look at the recording again this weekend. I hope I didn't miss much.

I read the brief description of assignment 1. So we just need to create a fake t.p. using the template form, right? Please let me know how I can help. Maybe we could each divide up the MARC sections, such as fixed, variable fields, and subject fields.

Toshu, I think it's good that your department has someone who we can interview with. Originally I was going to interview my manager here. She used to be a cataloging professor at Ohio State and she's an expert in cataloging. But we can use your person too if she's more suitable.

I am looking forward to working with you on the upcoming assignments and exercises. To tell you the truth, I haven't given much thought to anything beyond our monographic review assignment. However, for the non-print exercise I want to choose a collection of images on slides to catalog. I am going to ask Dr. Ellett if I can work independently for that exercise, if none of you are interested in this. Don't worry, I totally understand. Just let me know what you think.

I am sorry that I was busy with another class assignments and mandantory Elluminate session.
So, I haven't read detail of the next group project: NACO Ex.2
But, my department has great NACO level catalogers. We might be able to get some help.
Pamela, it looks interesting and sounds great.

I have a suggestion for Ex.3. My supervisor in my cataloging department is interested in innovative ways to make instructional manuals and department policies with Wiki.
I could set up the interview with my supervisor.
We could discuss all questions. And, I could interview my supervior and record the interview somehow.
