Hi! I just submitted the exercise 1 as well.

Thinking ahead to our next assignment - we have to create a fictitious monograph. I already have a fake book in mind - A Historical Look at Rooftop Gardens in the 18th Century. This book really doesn't exist! I have a slight interest in rooftop gardens and there aren't many books on the topic, but LC does have a subject heading for it!! The fake title would count for the two different facets (subjects) that Ellett stated was part of the requirement in the elluminate session - wasn't stated on the brief assignment details.

Any other ideas for our title? This seems to be one of our first tasks for this assignment.

Thanks Toshu for adding all the animation. It looks like we are done, unless something comes up at tonight's class meeting, although doubtful.

Amber asked about submitting this assignment in an email. We all have to turn in the same exact thing, the completed product. Right now the latest version is from Toshu, animated, and I belive we submit through blackboard.

Unfortunately, the American publisher changed the title only for American market.

This is another edition or version in cataloging. It requires to create a new Bib record.

First Japanese and British edition vs. American edition

Natalie, thank you for putting all together.


First edition of Japanese version has the same title as original British first edition.
However, the American publisher changed the title of first edition for US market.
It's interesting, isn't it?

It explained on my 2nd slide:
"The first book of the series, Harry Potter and the
Philosopher's Stone (ISBN 0-7475-3269-9), was published
by Bloomsbury, the publisher of all Harry Potter books in
the United Kingdom, on June 30, 1997. It was released in

Forgot to mention

I forgot to mention that Toshu used a different book in the series. Is is possible to get a picture of the correct book Toshu?
