Extra Credit #2 SACO

Hi everyone,
I'm wondering if anyone wants to participate with the extra credit SACO assignment DUE: Nov. 7th, 11pm. There's a lot of assignments going on right now, but I really want to do this, so I'll go it alone if no one else is interested.
Let me know.
Thanks!

ps: Happy Halloween

classification

I saw in blackboard that we can pick either Dewey or Library of Congress classification - shall we go with LC again?

Part 2 - Resource A

Here is the Resoure A cataloged. I put the begin date as 1990 because of the statement: “established at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland USA in 1990”. Although with the 1996 update I’m not 100% sure this is the correct date for the web site, maybe just for the Human Genome Project.

I was also unsure how to record the two corporate names – if they do both get a 7xx field. Finally – are we to do both Dewey and LC classification or pick one? Anyone know? I did both.

A4 Part 1

I’m sorry I came in so late in the discussion for this assignment. I finally caught up with all the readings and emails for my classes.

Here is what I have for Part 1:

Resource A-Monograph. It’s a book issued with finite term.

Resource B-Integrating resource since it’s a website with constant updates.

Resource C-Serial. This is a journal that is issued in discrete parts with no predetermined conclusion.

Resource D-At first I thought it’s an integrating resource since it’s a website with constant updates. But after I take a closer look and I agree with everyone here that it can be a Serial since the updates are issued in discrete parts.

Resource E-I almost thought this is a monograph since it is published in one specific date without further mention of continuous publication. But you guys are correct that it is an Integrating Resource because it has constant updates.

Resource H-Integrating resource. A website that receives updates. No question here.

Alright. I’m going to start working on Part 2 now!
