My Record

Ok I've made some revisions to my record as well. Looks like there are some differences with each of our records. How do we do the comparison and make corrections?

I'm not quite sure about how Dewey system works since I've only worked with LC call number before. I thought it would be the same as LC system where once I found the main subject number, in this case is 635.9671, then we use the first letter of the author's name as the 2nd line of the call number. Or maybe I am wrong. I've been trying to find information about Dewey online but haven't find anything useful yet.
There are only a few things I would like to make suggestions here:
1. I think we need to have a 1 as the first indicator at 245 since we have our author's name as the main entry and 245 is an added entry here.
2. Always be sure to have a space in between the words and punctuation such as ; : or / (except comma or hyphen). Sorry I've been trained to watch out for those punctuation errors at work so I've learned to keep an eye on those little details.
3. I wasn't too clear about the book dimension. Is 17.5cm the width or height? According to AACR2 rule 2.5d2: If the width of the volume is either less than half the height or greater than the height, give the height × width. If 35cm is the width, then Pamela is right. We do need to record both width and height in this case and round them up to the next whole number.
4. For illustration, I think it's ok if we want to add photographs on the illustration fixed field. But we also need to add "photographs" at 300 subfield b as well. (Not sure how they usually abbreviate it...)
It's funny. I've looked through many records about photograph books on OCLC. A lot of them only use "ill." as the only illustration code and don't even mention about photographs. But I don't think it would hurt if we're being more specific.
Other than that, I think we're pretty much on the same page as far as the subject headings and personal names. Good job! Almost done!
