Discussion on Resource A

Here are some of my thoughts in response to Pamela's discussion:

007 – I think subfield F is optional. I put it in there just for extra info.

050 or 090-I think 050 is assigned by LC. We should use 090 for local assigned call number.

I agree with Toshu in the call number choice here because either using Genome or Human genome as subject heading, they both came up with QH447 as call number in Classification Web.

092-Yeah I’m not familiar with Dewey number so I decided to skip this one.

245-I think either way is fine, depends on how we interpret that heading underneath the main title as subtitle or other title.

260 Publishers-I had some questions to which publishers to use also. Thanks for finding out the info for us, Pamela.

Dates-Now I’m looking at the assignment again. Prof. Ellet noted in Slide 14 that “the earliest entry is for 1996 and this may provide an indication of when the database first went online”. So maybe he’s giving us hints here?

362- If we decided that the publish date is 1996, should we say Began in 1996?

650-Ok. I changed my subject to Human genome to be more specific. I checked the Classification Web, either QH447 or QH431 works.

710-I added the “$b Bioinformatics Supercomputing Centre” part.
